Don’t Shake the Flask is the third incarnation of a blog that was originally started in 2000 as Grendel’s Lair on (the now defunct) Geocities and later moved to Blogger and renamed Syaffolee in 2001.

Syaffolee (or S. Y. Affolee) is the pseudonym for a microbiologist who has just moved from SoCal to NorCal.
